Little Explorer

Little Explorer was inspired by a photograph of my great niece charging fearlessly across a beach in her bright yellow wellies and winter coat. The moment instantly took me back to that wonderful stage of childhood where the world feels full of adventure, curiosity and endless possibilities.

What I love most about this image is her determination and complete lack of fear. As children, we step forward without hesitation, eager to discover what lies ahead. There is a sense of freedom, wonder and exploration in this piece that I hope resonates with others and perhaps stirs memories of their own childhood adventures.

Created using soft pastels and pastel pencils, this original artwork captures both the energy of the moment and the softness of memory.

The artwork is presented in an off-white gutter mount and measures 32cm x 42cm overall, ready to frame.

For the best protection and clarity, all pastel artwork should be framed behind glass rather than acrylic, helping to prevent static from disturbing the delicate pastel surface.
