Lemur-aste
In this blog post, I talk about what work I have been doing recently, and what plans I have coming up soon!

This little work-in-progress came from a fantastic photo by Tim Smith (from Free Reference Animal Images For Artist on Facebook). A friend spotted it and immediately thought of me—probably because, alongside being an artist, I’ve also been a Yoga and Pilates teacher for 24 years. Since I teach meditation, she knew this would be right up my street, and she was absolutely right!
I couldn’t resist painting this perfectly zen lemur. The pose is spot-on, the expression is priceless, and I had an absolute blast bringing it to life. Sometimes, you just need to do something light-hearted and fun, and this was exactly that!
Lately, I’ve been deep in portfolio work, preparing for a big year ahead. Alongside exhibiting with the Association of Animal Artists, I’m also planning my first solo exhibition—exciting but terrifying! The dreaded imposter syndrome still sneaks in now and then, but I’m pushing through.
For now, though, I’m just enjoying this meditative little lemur and reminding myself to breathe. Namaste… or should I say Lemur-aste!
